I can vouch for EU.ORG domains. I registered with them a long time ago and everything went smooth. I got all my domains within less than 24 hours average. They allow to register pretty much all domains without anything stupid like "no 3 char domains" or "pay for this domain because it is premium". No restrictions on regards which name servers you can use with their domains (like Freenom sometimes denied name servers...). They have free WHOIS protection (can be disable/enabled per domain) and their own WHOIS server. And they don't take away domains out of nowhere like Freenom...

I have had over 5 domains with them now and never had any issues. Currently running 2 domains I really need. One for a software/script I made and another one is my personal tech blog.

Yes, EU.ORG have their own WHOIS server at whois.eu.org. Unfortunately most sites such as ipaddress.com and so on ignore it and you get to see the main domain WHOIS information.

There is a site called domaintools and their WHOIS service is using EU.ORG's WHOIS servers to display WHOIS information for *.*.eu.org domains.

Try it out yourself with your EU.ORG domain. Just enter it at https://whois.domaintools.com/ and you should see totally different WHOIS details than on http://yourdomain.eu.org.ipaddress.com/

Sorry folks I don't understand- third party DNS? Filling in those is a second party, eh? Who's the third? I don't care about WHOIS stuff- but can I send it to my subdomains on Tripod.com or Wordpress?? Is there a way to do that with DNS? Does or will EU.org give you any space for file storage free?

Yes you can do that.
You only need chage your name servers to http://freedns.afraid.org/ name servers and thenfrom there redirec your domain to other domain or to any url you whant
The eu.org domain don't have dns hostin but http://freedns.afraid.org/ offer free dns hosting.
Dns is where you can point to your domain to an ip or url.
