What is your opinion of Vultr's $2.5 per month VPS? If you have used Vultr could you tell me what you think of it?
The service provided is no worse than any of their other products I think. Although you pay much less you still get a nice small VPS that can be used for many purposes if you configurate and tweak your hosted applications. I've had some of these and even posted the offer on another forum to make people aware of it. The plan is about the cheapest plan of DO but for a lower price than DO provides it forSmile .

They're great generally. Only disadvantage I noticed is that in some countries the bandwidth carriers aren't so great. So using it as a VPN or proxy might not work well. In the end I used their Amsterdam, NL location and it had excellent performance. The KVM boxes are great as you have 99% control of your server and you also get a VNC for emergency access if SSH isn't working. Storage is backed by SSDs like DO does.

Here is a copy of my comparison:
Price: 2.5 $ / Month (5 $ on DO)
- 512 MB RAM (same on DO)
- 1 CPU Core (same on DO)
- 20 GB SSD (same on DO)
- 500 GB Traffic/Month (1 TB on DO)
- Free outbound traffic (see post #25 of this thread)

Unfortunately as far as I heard the 2.5$ instances are sold out and since I had nothing to host anymore I terminated mine to not waste credits/money with a unused VPS.
Vultr is definately one of the best hosts out there. I have been hosting with their 16gb plan for my minecraft server for 2 years and its definately worth it

Go to https://www.vultr.com/locations/and scroll down a bit for a full map of all available locations. They have many in the United States, a few in Europe and Asia plus an location in Australia.
I heard that they're sold out of those small plans right? At least the other plans are at reduced pricing.
Looks like just a publicity stunt to me, 'sold out' is probably due to the very low margins in accordance with the ipv4 costs and power/hardware costs these machines are on.

The price drop was probably done just to create more sales, probably because they have too much hardware sitting around and nothing better to do with it.
I hope it comes back soon. Those smaller instances are still great for many projects that are personal and don't require a lot of resources as they only serve a little base of users. VPN, proxy and so on. All kind of stuff for your own personal use. When you try to order it at the moment it just says "Temporarily Sold Out". If it isn't going to come back I'll use up my left over credit (2 months since the lowest plan now is $5) and cancel my account with them.
Is 512 mb ram is fast enough to run game server here. I like to sign up with them if it 2.5 per month.
